FIX Support Analyst

Support all FIX connections firm wide, learn multiple businesses.

Job description:

Main Function

  • To provide full support for mission critical Equities Exchange Connectivity Technology in New York
  • To develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams
  • To liaise with internal traders and sales on potential process improvements
  • To liaise with Development teams on future applications
  • To take ownership of issues through to resolution or escalation, as appropriate
  • To pro-actively improve the quality of systems and service, and increase business value
  • To undertake projects as required, including, but not restricted to, the following areas: - capacity and performance management, monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, web based tools, reporting and documentation
  • To uphold and champion policies, procedures and standards

Person Requirements: Experience Required

  • Listed Futures / Equity Markets technology experience in a related application support role within investment banking
  • Listed equities product knowledge

Experience Required:

E-commerce / electronic trading experience

Skills / Aptitude Required:

  • Equities or Futures
  • Exchange Connectivity (LIFFE, EUREX, CBOT, CME, LSE, XETRA, NYSE, etc)
  • Windows
  • UNIX
  • SQL (MS-SQL / Oracle)
  • FIX
  • Scripting (e.g. Perl/shell, JavaScript, vbscript)
  • Excellent communicator, good with users, able to work well in a cross-discipline team and alone with minimum supervision
  • Pro-active, thorough, organized and energetic
  • Excellent problem solver with a commitment to thorough root cause analysis and business process improvement

Skills / Aptitude Preferred:

  • PL/SQL
  • CGI Scripting/HTML
  • VBA
  • ITIL knowledge
